I need suggestions about what kind of press should I buy

Currently I have a Heidelberg MO-E and Heidelberg SORM single colour machines, but as per growing demand for faster colour printing I am thinking of buying a used four colour press

The presses that I have been looking are Heidelberg MOV, SM 74-4-H and few komor L426, L428

But the dilemma I am having is about which one to use as 30 inches presses only get busy like 4 to 6 months a year while 25-26 inche press have jobs all year round, whereas SM 74s are faster in production, I'm also thinking about buying a 20 inch press but I guess it would be too small to match my printing requirements, we usually print A4 sized jobs and we also have B2 sized jobs in large volume

Please suggest me on what should I do and which press would be ideal for me, Im a second generation printer we started with a letter press like 25 years ago and now we're thinking of upgrading to a four colour press

I would recommend you add a unit and get a five color instead if you can fit it in your budget. The additional printing unit offers a whole bunch of additional capabilities. For example.... you could inline varnish to either seal or add gloss or matte finish. It allows running a 5th color either spot PMS or be able to print big PMS solids. It allows you to run specialty inks like metallics, and day glows. And even if you dont print on the extra unit you can set up jobs with 4/c process on the last 4 units and use the first unit to dust off your paper of paper dust and spray powder when backing up.

Being that you are in Nepal do your research on the availability of getting part's or service.choose a machine based on this if you have a press that you can not get fixed your in trouble

The flexibility that a 5th unit will offer you will pay for itself over time. Being able to use the first unit for cleaning the stock of paper lint and spray powder on backups alone will save you time and improve the quality of your jobs. Then there is the ability to utilize the extra unit for a 5th color might just be something that you can sell as value added to your customers.

Absolutely, choosing the right press is crucial for efficiency, especially in industry packaging boxes. Considering your volume and the busy periods, the Heidelberg MOV or SM 74-4-H might serve you well. They strike a good balance between size and speed, which is crucial for handling those A4 and B2 size jobs consistently throughout the year.
